1. Our Commitment to Child Safety
Pathfinders Football Camps is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people participating in our football camps and travel programs.
We believe every child has the right to:
- •Be safe from harm, abuse, and exploitation
- •Be treated with respect and dignity
- •Participate in activities in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, coaches, partners, chaperones, facilitators, and third-party service providers involved in the camp.
2. Scope of This Policy
This policy covers:
- Camp activities in Ghana and Germany
- International travel, accommodation, training, and excursions
- Online and offline interactions with children
- All participants under the age of 18
3. Code of Conduct
All adults working with or around children must:
- ✓Treat all children fairly and with respect
- ✓Maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times
- ✓Use proper language and behavior
- ✓Avoid being alone with a child where possible
- ✓Follow supervision and reporting procedures
- ✓Respect cultural, gender, and religious differences
Strictly prohibited:
- ✗Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse
- ✗Inappropriate touching or communication
- ✗Bullying, harassment, or discrimination
- ✗Sharing personal contact details with children
- ✗Taking photos/videos without prior consent
4. Supervision & Staff Responsibilities
- Children are supervised 24 hours a day during travel, accommodation, training, and excursions
- A minimum adult-to-child ratio is maintained at all times
- Male and female supervisors are present where possible
- Room allocations follow safeguarding guidelines
- Curfews and check-in systems are enforced
5. Recruitment & Vetting
- All staff, chaperones, and facilitators undergo appropriate background checks where applicable
- Partner organizations (including FC Köln and service providers) adhere to safeguarding standards
- All staff receive child safeguarding awareness training
6. Travel & Accommodation Safety

7. Medical Care & Well-Being
- •Medical information is collected with parental consent
- •First aid support is available at all times
- •Parents/guardians are notified immediately in case of illness or injury
- •Medical treatment is provided in line with consent forms
8. Photography, Media & Online Safety
- ✓Photos and videos are taken only with written parental consent
- ✓Media is used strictly for promotional and documentation purposes
- ✓Children are never identified by full name in public materials
- ✓Online communication with children is monitored and controlled
9. Reporting Concerns or Incidents
Any safeguarding concern must be reported immediately.
Safeguarding Officer
All concerns are:
- ✓Taken seriously
- ✓Handled confidentially
- ✓Reported to the relevant authorities where necessary
No individual will be penalized for raising a genuine concern.
10. Parental & Guardian Responsibilities
Parents/guardians are expected to:
- Provide accurate medical and personal information
- Inform the camp of any special needs or concerns
- Discuss expected behavior and rules with their child
- Support the camp's safeguarding procedures
11. Breach of Policy
Any breach of this policy may result in:
- •Immediate removal from the camp
- •Disciplinary action
- •Reporting to the relevant authorities
12. Policy Review
This policy is reviewed annually and updated as required to reflect best practices and legal obligations.
13. Acknowledgement
By registering for the camp, parents/guardians confirm that they:
- Have read and understood this Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy
- Consent to their child's participation under these guidelines
